Cultural Anthropologist

Ipshita Rajesh is a dancer-storyteller, an educator, and an anthropologist. A Bharatanatyam training for 23 years under the tutelage of renowned gurus in India, and a love for stories ignited a passion in her to tell popular as well as unheard tales through a myriad of expressions and movements, using elements of dance and theatre. Integrating technology with tradition, she has also been imparting Bharatanatyam training to students over two continents using the internet and videoconferencing. Apart from a postgraduate degree in Bharatanatyam from India, Ipshita is the first Indian to receive the Erasmus Mundus scholarship for a Masters in Dance Anthropology, a joint programme by four renowned universities in Norway, France, Hungary, and the United Kingdom.
